AdultLearn2 is transferring to a new VLE

We have had a replacement for AdultLearn2 being worked on during this year by Dave Cameron (David.Cameron@eastriding.gov.uk), one of our Curriculum Development team, and this will officially takeover from 1st August onwards. We are currently ready to begin the process of transferring content from Adultlearn2 to the new VLE. Please note that Adultlearn2 will be archived so no content will be deleted.

From a technical view, the new VLE is based on moodle version 2.8.5 and, with the old one being version 2.8.1 we should be able to transfer resources, content and plugins etc across without too many technical issues.

Training and support for the new VLE will be made available and tutors will be informed about this in due course.

Could tutors please let Dave know of the areas (content, forums etc) which you will need transferring from Adultlearn2 to the new VLE and he can start copying it across. We can then check everything's on there before we activate logins for the new VLE (hopefully the same as your current Adultlearn2 login) and tutors can check everything's up and running.

After the end of July please contact Jonathan Galtry (jonathan.galtry@eastriding.gov.uk) should you require access to any content from AdultLearn2, but hopefully the new VLE will contain all the relevant information.

In the meantime if there's anything VLE wise we can help with, don't hesitate to get in touch.
